PALLAY PONCHO FULL-DAY

DAY 1: CUSCO - CUSIPATA - MARANGANI - PALLAY PONCHO:

We will pick you up from your hotel or selected meeting point between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. and begin our journey toward Cusipata, approximately 1.5 hours from Cusco. Upon arrival, you will enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant before continuing our drive toward the trailhead near Marangani.

Upon arrival at the trailhead, your guide will explain the route and provide safety recommendations before the hike begins.

The hike takes approximately 1-1.5 hours on the way up, depending on your pace and weather conditions. The trail climbs gradually in some sections and becomes steeper near the viewpoints. Along the way, you can enjoy the peaceful high-Andean scenery and panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Pallay Poncho reaches an elevation of approximately 4,700–4,790 meters (15,420–15,715 feet) above sea level, so walking slowly and allowing time to rest is important.

At the top, you will discover the mountain’s distinctive sharp ridges and colorful rock layers, which resemble the designs of a traditional Andean poncho. Your guide will explain the natural features of the landscape while you enjoy time to take photos and admire the spectacular views of Langui-Layo Lake.

After enjoying the scenery, we will descend along the same trail to meet our transportation. We will then stop at a local restaurant for lunch and some time to rest before returning to Cusco.

After lunch, we will begin the drive back to Cusco, enjoying the Andean scenery along the way. We expect to arrive in Cusco in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on road conditions and the pace of the tour.
