DAY 01: CUSCO - PISAC - URUBAMBA - OLLANTAYTAMBO - CHINCHERO:
7:30AM you will meet at the office. In a tourist van, you will travel from Cusco over the mountains toward the Sacred Valley. You will descend to the valley floor starting in the village of Pisac where you will visit a traditional market, and you can buy some local souveniers. Then you will continue in the van up to explore the extensive ruins of Pisac with stunning views over the valley. On the guided walk into the Citadel of Pisac you will be able to observe temples, residences, altars, channels, carvings, tunnels and caves.
You will then continue on to Urubamba where you will stop for lunch. (There is an optional buffet lunch you can include or you can enjoy the personal food you will have to bring along). Following the lunch break, you will travel another 30 minutes before arriving to Ollantaytambo. Here you will be surrounded by the sacred mountains and where you will again discover the magnificence of the Incan constructions, the amazing Temple of the Sun, enormous blocks of rock perfectly carved and polished, stone water fountains, stairs, terraces and the beauty of the local people in their traditional dress. On your return, you will quickly visit a textile shop, and an archeological site (if time permits) in Chinchero, and will arrive to Cusco at approximately 6:30-7:00pm. The drop-off point will be at Plaza San Francisco (near the Plaza de Armas).
